Is your website all show and no dough?Website - All Show and No Dough

Ireland is now ranked 10th in the world for online buyers* a phenomenal number that further validates Ireland as having the early adopters and users in technology.

This figure is growing hour by hour and if you are a business with a website that is not performing or don't have one, that's a lot of lost opportunity.

Website Performance

For most businesses, a good performing website is one that sells. If you have a website already, the quickest way of checking your website performance is to review its visitor statistics.

Snap recommends Google Analytics - it's a free tool that helps you identify which pages on your website are performing and which are not. By tweaking poor performing pages, you can ensure you get every opportunity for customers to stay interested in what you are selling and get in touch.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics allows you to create goals that mark every time someone contacts you through the website and through which page. It can show you where visitors came from, how long they stayed and how much they cost.

Example - Google Analytics

Visitors (Good Ones)

A good website is lost without visitors. One of the most frequent questions we get asked is "how do I get my website to the first page of Google". Getting to 1st page in Google Organic Searches takes time and effort (normally a minimum of 6 months of time and investment).

A better question is "Which search term is most profitable for my business". A visitor might use 40 different terms to get information on what your selling. If you were an accountant this could be "accountant", management accountant", "accountant cork" etc.

Snap recommends Google Adwords as a great way to examine which search terms bring the best visitors to your website. With Adwords, you bid against a particular search term, and pay every time someone visits your website. Adwords gives you visitors to your website, but as you will see below not all visitors are made equal.
